We are writing to inform you that one or more cases of head lice has been identified in our school. Head lice are a common occurrence among school-age children and are not a health hazard or a sign of poor hygiene.
As a precaution, we recommend that you check your child’s hair and scalp this evening and over the next several days. Look closely at the scalp, especially behind the ears and at the nape of the neck, for live lice or small white eggs (nits) attached to the hair shaft.
To help prevent the spread of head lice, please remind your child not to share personal items such as hats, hairbrushes, or headphones.
If you have any questions or would like additional information, please contact the school office or your healthcare provider.
Thank you for your cooperation.
