Dear Students and Families, Today it was announced that Siskiyou County has moved from Tier 3 (orange) to the most restrictive Tier 1 (purple) and the Governor has announced new immediate actions to curb COVID-19 Transmission. In accordance with the Happy Camp Elementary School Reopening Plan and out of an abundance of caution, our school will return to Phase 1 effective immediately (Tuesday, November 17, 2020). During this time all students will participate in distance learning from home. This is a difficult decision that is based on the continued rise in cases in the county as well as the need to do our part in helping to protect our students, staff and the community. At this time, we do not have any specific information about possible student exposure at school. However, this is an evolving situation. We will work closely with our school nurse as well as the county public health department to determine when it will be safe to return to Phase 3 of our plan. As new information becomes available, we will inform you of any specific steps that may need to be taken. We recognize that our students and families will continue to need support through these difficult times and the upcoming holiday season. We encourage students and families to continue to use all necessary precautions and monitor for symptoms related to COVID-19. Once our teaching staff has a process in place, they will reach out to you to get your student connected to the learning plan that they have created. Hello Happy Camp parents, guardians and students! Welcome to the 2020/2021 school year. This is Mr. Cooper. The Happy Camp staff has been working really hard to get your school ready for your return and we are happy and excited to get to see your smiling faces. We are ready to start. Here are some helpful procedures to start off this year: Students cannot enter the school grounds, until 7:45 am. All students will be required to get a temperature check before entering the school. Students walking will wait on the sidewalk next to the rose bushes, there will be a Teacher or Aide to help with this process. The students getting dropped off by car will wait in the car until they are motioned by a teacher/aide that is on parking lot duty. Parents may park in the parking spaces closest to the school or wait in line to drop off their child or children after 7:45. Once in line students will get their temp checked and go through the Multipurpose room and either get a breakfast or follow signs to go directly to their classroom. Please be aware that all chrome books, power cords, desks and chairs that were checked out to assist with distant learning, need to be returned to the school no later then this Friday June 12th. Hello! This message is for all Happy Camp Students that are receiving meal distribution in the mornings. Please be aware that beginning tomorrow April 21st, distribution times will be 1 hour later then their current times. The first stop will be at 8:35 am and will continue from there. Mondays will continue to be slightly later due to curriculum exchange.As always, someone must be at the stops at their designated times or the stops will be skipped.School office hours will continue to be 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. Good afternoon. Due to our current school closure, Happy Camp Elementary School is canceling the scheduled snow day this Monday April 13th. We will the operate the normal distribution schedule for meals and curriculum. If you have any questions, please contact the front office at (530) 493-2267.

This message is for all Happy Camp Students that are receiving meal distribution in the mornings. Due to the high volume of meal drop offs, we are asking that parents and/or students be waiting at their distribution sites before their designated time. In order to reach all the stops on time, it is important to stay on schedule and not delay the process. However, we will continue to stop at the old tribal gym at 9:00 am and at Kingfisher at 9:15. Distribution will wait 15 minutes at each of those places for those that could not make it to the normal stops. You can also pick up a meal at the school until 12:30 pm. Hello! Happy Camp Elementary School, in accordance with the new shelter in place order put into effect by Governor Newsom tonight March 19th, will still perform our meal delivery tomorrow morning March 20th. If you cannot make the designated time to pick up a meal, the school will continue to distribute until 12:00 pm. After 12:00 pm we will be closed. We will continue to do our best to update you as new information becomes available to us.

Starting Wednesday, under the direction of Siskiyou County Office of Education, we will be closed March 18th for spring break and resume again on the 30th.
