Good afternoon Happy Camp Families and Staff. This is Jacob Jensen, your Superintendent/Principal, letting you know that we continue to have the green light to open our schools on Monday, August 28th! We are so excited to welcome our students back for the beginning of the 2023-2024 school year! Both the Elementary School as well as the High School will be open to welcome everyone back to school this coming Monday!

Due to the Happy Camp Complex Fire which includes the Canyon, Three Creeks, Elliot, Ufish, Malone, Lake, Townsend, Gold, Scott, Head, and Den fires, we want to provide you with an update for today, Monday, August 21.
Weather and fire activity are impacting road use, air quality, and school staffing. We have listed the schools below that are currently affected by the Happy Camp Complex.
Junction Elementary School opened on Thursday, August 17, and is now closed due to a Fire Evacuation Warning, which includes Somes Bar.
Happy Camp Elementary School has a delayed start of at least Monday, August 28 due to fire activity and evacuations.
Happy Camp High School has a delayed start of at least Monday, August 28 due to fire activity and evacuations.
Seiad Elementary School is closed due to fire activity and evacuation orders.
Klamath River Elementary is closed due to fire activity and evacuation orders.

Happy Camp Staff, Students and parents, please review this communication from Siskiyou County Office of Education. We will be closed until Monday August 28th. I will send out a message on Friday, August 25th with updates about any potential changes to our re-opening.

Good morning Happy Camp Elementary School, this is Jacob Jensen your new Superintendent/Principal. I just got off the phone with the Siskiyou County Office of Education Superintendent Allen Carver who shared that the Operations Manager for the fires in our area has asked that both Happy Camp High School and Happy Camp Elementary pause the opening of school until Wednesday the 23rd. At this time, we are NOT starting school on Monday the 21st, but instead we will plan to welcome students back on Wednesday the 23rd. Please share this information with everyone in the area. I am keeping in close contact with the County Office of Education and if anything changes, I will let you know immediately. Thank you!
Attention Parents and guardians of Happy Camp Elementary school. We are sorry for the inconvenience, but due to the fact we currently do not have a bus driver, there will be no bus service until further notice. Please remember school starts this Monday the 21st at 8:00 so have your student here before that time. We have hired a new bus driver and that person is currently going through training. We will let you know as soon as the bus is available again. Again, we apologize for the inconvenience. If you have any questions please contact the front office.

Also, Reminder that today the Rocket program ends at 4 and there is no Rockets tomorrow. Have a great summer and remember it's not to late to sign up your child/s for our summer learning program. We will be having fun field trips to the science work and escape room, Oregon caves, the ocean, and the fun center. June 12th-July 7th.
Also remember to have your child turn on all chromebooks that are at home along with the charger cords. Parents will be charged for damages and or missing Chromebook's.
